Before and After: The boys room

As I mentioned before, we recently bought a house. A fixer-upper of a house. But after countless hours of fixing up (thank you to all who helped, too many to name!), we are happily living in the house! The first room that needed to be finished, and one of the easiest ones to fix was the boys room. We started by repairing the cracks in the walls and stripping out the linoleum in the closet (thankfully there was hardwood floors under that!). Next we started painting, which ended up being a monumental task (my fault since I picked 4 different colors for their room). Third we refinished the floors and put in new trim. Lastly, we redid the electrical (throughout the whole house) and put in a new light fixture.

Since we are expecting baby #3 any day now, we really wanted to get the boys out of their cribs and into big boy beds. We bought the bunk beds back when we were in Hawaii and put them up in their room. They are still way too young to use the top bunk, but they love sleeping together anyway, so we have them together on the bottom. One of the things this house definitely lacks is storage space, so for now, what we couldn't find space for is on top of the boys bed. Hopefully one day we will be able to do an addition and add some storage space! We still have a few small things to do (we'd like to replace the windows and do some minor touch ups), but it is in working condition for now!
